About Brentwood SeaWolves
Brentwood SeaWolves (BSW) is a year-round competitive swim team and is a member of USA Swimming. We compete with other USA Swimming swim teams in sanctioned meets, which include both 50-meter and 25-yard courses. We have highly qualified coaches skilled at instructing for all ages and abilities. We offer programs from the novice up to national levels. BSW swimmers consistently rank in the top 25 for Pacific Swimming, which consists of 16,000+ swimmers from 120 clubs in Northern California and Nevada. We offer part-time programs (on a limited basis) for many of our swim groups.
BSW is in the Pacific Swimming zone. There are five zones in Pacific Swimming. BSW is in Zone 2. Pacific Swimming Time Standards have been set to determine a swimmer’s competition level for swim meets, including 8/Under, USA Swimming Motivational, Junior Olympics, Far Westerns, Senior, Sectionals, Future and Junior Nationals.
BSW is a member of USA Swimming, which is the governing body of American swimming competitions. It's headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, home of the Olympic Training Center. USA Swimming is organized into 59 regional Local Swimming Committees (LSC).
We also have a year-round water polo program through a partnership with Lamorinda Water Polo Club (LWPC). Lamorinda-Brentwood Water Polo and the City of Brentwood offer Splashball - an introduction to water polo for kids ages 5-9. For more information, visit our Lamorinda Brentwood Water Polo and Splashball pages.
History
BSW was founded in September 2007 by six families to teach and promote competitive swimming to youth of all ages in Brentwood and the surrounding areas. The first practice took place in February 2008 with 12 swimmers. Later that year, water polo was added as the second aquatic sport. In June 2009, BSW was granted tax-exampt status and became a 501c3 non-profit organization. Our swim and water polo teams are sanctioned members of USA Swimming and USA Water Polo.
